How to Join

Any woman, age 18 or older, who can prove she is a direct descendant of a Patriot of the American Revolutionary War is eligible for membership.  Our members can help you locate the necessary proof if you think you are eligible but are not sure what documentation you need.  Visit the National Society DAR "Become a Member" webpage for more information.

What is a Patriot?

A Patriot is anyone who supported the cause for American independence through military, civil, or patriotic service, which must have occurred between April 19, 1775 and November 26, 1783.  For a list of acceptable services, visit the "Accepted Revolutionary War Service" webpage for more information.
